Most of my career has been devoted to improving healthcare approaches, health, and the quality of life for individuals. I've always been interested in the tension between what resources are available to practitioners and what was desired/needed by the communities they serve. I also wanted to take important concepts, models, frameworks and standards that I had become familiar with during my formal undergraduate education (B.Sc. in Psychology at McGill), graduate studies (M.Sc. in Behavioural Medicine) and doctorate in Business Administration (DBA, Athabasca University) and blend them with the unique capabilities of a group of highly respected and skilled professionals--our knowledge ambassadors.
We are interested in sustainable impact that is achieved through sound governance, efficient operations, principles of management accounting, and regulatory know-how. The service gap experienced by many organizations was undeniable, so Imvelo Inc.was developed to address this need within the unique dimensions of sustainability-- the environments which are physical, social and economic.
Dr. Shelley-Ann John
The heart of our work lies at the intersection of stakeholder engagement and sustainability. Balancing the interests of not only current stakeholders, but those likely to become involved in an organization or its project later in life.
We conduct either preparatory or empirical research--qualitative, quantitative and mixed methods. Research informs program development and mobilizes practitioners within many types of institutions. Here, Shelley-Ann meets with members of the Executive Unit for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Yemen.
Our change agents provide the knowledge that helps in understanding the depth and breadth of the unique contexts within which our work is done. Imvelo's skilled team members specialize in medicine; data science and epidemiology (in areas such as population health and biotechnology); logistics and supply chain management in high conflict regions that need vital supplies of medicines and clinical care; sustainability (eco-friendly housing, water and renewble energy etc.) In addition to our team, we are fortunate to have a dedicated group of advisors who are experienced in the art and science of integrating their knowledge gleaned from working with various governments, multi-national corporations, communities, unions, and educational institutions
Our subject matter experts (SMEs) provide the knowledge depth and breadth of the contexts within which our work is done. Imvelo's skilled team members specialize in medicine; data science and epidemiology (in areas such as population health and biotechnology); logistics and supply chain management in high conflict regions that need vital supplies of medicines and clinical care; sustainability (eco-friendly housing, water and renewable energy etc.), and advise on transportation issues. In addition to our team, we are fortunate to have a dedicated group of anti-fragile advisors (those who help to develop strategies that benefit from unusual or negative circumstances) who are experienced in the art and science of integrating their knowledge gleaned from working with various governments, multi-national corporations, communities, unions, and educational institutions
